Brighten Your Eyes

You can easily hide your tired eyes and dark shadows under them with these easy steps and some beauty products. You will need eye cream, concealer and loose powder.

Apply light eye cream. After that dot on a concealer as it’s shown at the picture below. Blend and pat with brush and finger. As a final touch use the loose powder. Done!

Lived in Liner – Tutorial

There are days when you are not in a mood for spending much time in front of the mirror. We are suggesting you a makeup style just for those days, it says: “Hey, I’m looking great without spending my entire morning in front of the mirror.” Eye liner and mascara sometimes can make miracles.

• Apply eye pencil above the eyelashes line and below it by pulling gently the eye lid with your fingers.
• Apply also at the top line of the bottom row of lashes.
• Take a cotton bud and firmly take pencil from the upper lashes and apply the same materila under the bottom eyelashes.
• Apply mascara and you are done!

Fresh Eye Look for the Summer

Looking fresh and natural should be one of your top priorities in the summer. Of course, a small part of us like a “naked” look with no makeup, so here is an idea of how to keep a fresh appearance with a little emphasizing on the eyes.

• Apply a little brown eyeshadow on the top line of your eyelid.
• Draw a slight line with black eyeliner.
• Fill it and make it a little wider with a little pin-up wing finish on the outer part of the eye.

Cat Eye Tips

The cat eye eyeliner has many different techniques and interpretations, we all know that. As it is one of the most popular eyeliner, that is absolutely normal. Personally, I begin with drawing the line over the eyelid, but in the picture below we have a starting point from the cat eye line.

So, let’s get started! You begin drawing the line in the corner of your eyes by placing two dots and afterwards connecting them. Then you repeat the step until you are completely satisfied with the result.

Lastly, you just fully finish your eyeliner and voila! You now have a gorgeous eyeliner.

We all know that there are many ways and techniques to put your eyeliner on. I, personally, love experimenting and I am almost never wearing my eyeliner the same way. Mainly because my hand would decide to go in another direction and it’s always different, just a little bit.

Go frosty

A popular beauty trend of 2014 - the shimmering and metallic effect of frosted eye shadows is now a rage. 

Would you like to make your eyes look like cake frosting? Glittering eyelids are in and this time, you can play with colours like pink, icy and shimmering whites. Says make-up expert Puja Taluja, "Last year, blue eyelids were quite popular and this year, the frosted eye look has taken the beauty world by storm. They brighten your eyes and provide a contrast to your dark lashes. This is a look that you can sport all year round and also wear with any kind of outfit." 

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BASE SHADE 

While selecting the base shade, always go for silver. This colour works the best because it makes your shadow colour come through and the smokeys silver hue makes your eyes look bigger and gorgeous.

Thin eyebrows out, bushy ones in

Bushy eyebrows have elbowed out thin ones. If earlier Brooke Shields and Cindy Crawford flaunted big brows, new age celebrities like Cara Delevingne and Lily Collins have made the look chic again.

Assess your brow:

The most important thing to know is the shape of your natural eyebrow. To measure the starting and ending points of the brow, simply take the brow brush and align it vertically from the middle of the nostril to the brow bone. This is the starting point of your brow.

Then take the brush and align it from the tip of your nose through the centre of the iris and onto the brow bone. This is the highest point of your brow arch.

Finally, hold the brush from the corner of your nostril to the outside corner of the eye and onto the brow bone. This is where your brow should end. Knowing the three points, you will know how to align the stencil.

 

Follow your guideline: 

Once you have the correct stencil based off of your eyebrow assessment, it is time to fill in. There are many different ways to fill in eyebrows, but my current favourite product is my new Dipbrow Pomade (waterproof brow colour).

Once your pomade is set, blend it with an eyebrow brush to ensure precision application. Small strokes will help to properly blend the colour into your brow while still looking natural.

Tweeze and colour: 

Once you have the base set, you can then tweeze the excess hair that fall outside of your guideline.

Set: You should always set your freshly formed eyebrows with a brow gel that is either clear or tinted. This will make your brows waterproof and last for long.

How to shape your eyebrows

Here are some simple tips on how to shape your own eyebrows to bring out your best features. 

Don't apply ice to your skin before using a tweezer on your eyebrows. Instead of numbing your skin, it will only increase the pain. Wash your face with hot water to open up your pores. This will make the process easier.

Since eyebrows don't go straight across, you need to make them arched. Take an eyebrow pencil, to draw on your face. You can draw on different styles to see what looks best before you start tweezing. For help, you can look at celebrity photos and let them be your guide.

If you have scanty eyebrows and want yours to look fuller, use a powder that is the same shade of your eyebrows and fill this in with a brush. First outline the edges of your eyebrows with the powder, and then start working on the inside.

Make-up trend: Think purple!

Pantone, the authority on all things colour, recently named a fuchsia-purple hue, officially known as 'Radiant Orchid' as 2014's Colour of the Year - especially for your make-up scheme.

So, let the shades of orchid, lilac and lavender rule your make-up palette this year. These shades can instantly brighten your face. The prettiest way to tackle the trend is by applying a wash of eyeshadow, which is both dressy and a bit adventurous. Or try a pop of colour along your lash line using a wet purple liner. And if you want those intense, piercing eyes, go for the purple smokey-eye look with nude lips. If you're passionate about purple, go full-on and sport deep purple on your lips and nails. 

The colour screams 'sexy' and if worn well, can make a woman look drop-dead gorgeous.

 Tip: 

Go easy on the amount of eyeshadow you're applying. A light, blurred effect is preferred over a dark, dramatic look.

Art of the Cat Eye!

It can be hard to achieve the cat eye look without drawing in the wrong places and ending up with a black eye look!

This tutorial will show you the most simple way to achieve the cat eye look.

Just grab your black liquid eyeliner and we’re ready to start!

1. Make sure your eyes are clear of any makeup

2. Using the black liquid eyeliner, apply a small dot to the outside section of the eye as shown – this will be your guide to applying the eyeliner

3. From the inside V section of the eye – apply the black liquid eyeliner along the lashline, eventually applying up to the dot of eyeliner just applied in step 2

4. Continue to apply more eyeliner if you require a darker more effective look until your happy with the look

To finish off the look, apply mascara and your kohl eyeliner if required and thats it!
